Sachin Retires from Cricket

Yes, it has happened.

The greatest cricketer of all time is set to retire from playing cricket, the only batsman to ever reach 100 international centuries – a feat that will surely be remembered for decades.

He made his international debut at the age of only 16 in November 1989.

Tendulkar is the highest scorer in both Tests and ODIs, with 15,837 runs in 198 Tests and 18,426 runs in 463 ODIs.

Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is set to retire from all forms of cricket after playing his 200th Test next month.

He has truly been an inspiration for all the teams that he has played for over the many decades including his devotion to the Mumbai Indians in the IPL, and of course his amazing performances for the Indian international cricket team.

We wish him well for the future…

England boss Roy Hodgson praises Lampard, Gerrard & Cole

The England boss lavished some praise upon the senior members of his team ahead of the World Cup Qualifier against Ukraine in Kiev. He believes the 3 centurions have proved a “godsend”.

Their ability is not doubted but England need to move to a younger team sooner or later so that they can prepare for the next world cup. They need to be able to allow young upcoming players to move comfortably with the national team. They can remain as they are for the current World cup but they show no signs of long term planning which I would like to see.

Congratulations to Nadal who beat Djokovic in the final of the US Open to overcome form fears. I hope this gives him a lot of confidence so that the top 3 can become even more competitive.
